MOTOR-X
This is a logo design for a racing car company. It is company created by me to test out my logo creation skills. Below you will see the logo, not in use on other martial but rather the variation in color and placement of the logo. This logo idea came to me when I was creating my logo for Track. Creating my first logo inspired me to create more. When I started this logo, my first idea was to make it look beautiful but that is not what a designer should be trying to do, so corrected my mistakes and crested another version that works with the type of company Motorx is; a car/racing company. I took my inspiration from the logo of Chevrolet stingray.
GREETING CARD ENVELOPE
This is an envelope for a greeting card, it is made using only black and white color scheme, and is created using an abstract idea; your brain wondering to whats inside the envelope. One of the images is vectored, since it was scanned in there is also a regular version without the paths. This is a personal project, so my thoughts when starting this project was create a better envelop for greeting cards. The cards themselves are great but the plain white envelope took a lot of excitement and energy away when someones receives it. So a major part of my project was to make it active, full of energy, but abstract; so everyone can relate in anyway they want.
SAMPLE TYPOGRAPHY
This is part of a project from Typography 1. This shows the use of sentences with a fonts we believe best suits it, and it is done without the use of layering, or any kind of effects. No images and only one font type per page. The sentences cannot be taken from somewhere else. The first page says: I FADE AS I LIVE, the second lines says: The perfect world is a type line away. There was no general process, I wrote my sentence, chose my fonts that best suited the meaning behind the sentence, and applied them on Indesign.
SEVA
This is a logo/poster/illustration done for a non-profit organization called SEVA. They wanted to save money and hired me to create a logo that is also a poser for an event (Richmond Hill Restaurant week) that they always host. They did not want their own logo on the pamphlet, so I was told to create a new logo, it had to be of an animal, so I chose the Peacock (since SEVA is Mostly Indian group). They also gave me specific colors to use, such as orange, white, blue (I'm not listing the exact colors #s here). They also had a another condition, the logo must serve as the main part of the pamphlet, while it had to say: Richmond Hill Restaurant Week.
CLINICAL DEPRESSION POSTER
This poster was done for my Design 1 class. It is a a minimalist approach at describing a very well known disease: Clinical depression. For this projects, there could be no use of symbolic imagery, representing objects or referring to objects, and everything had to be abstract except for the typography. First I sketched out some abstract ideas and got an approve on one of them, so I moved on to the next stage by scanning my image in illustrator. From her I created the abstract shapes, chose their color, and found the type I thought best suited the abstract shapes.
BOOK COVER
This is a project done for my design 1 class, which was done for a book by Herman Melville, called Bartleby The Scrivener: A Story of Wall street. It is a both front and back cover. On the front it shows Bartleby on the other side of a window, as the building he is in is made up of dollars. The back shows a photo of the author, while giving some information of his life. On the bottom of the page there is some info on the book itself. Below it is a logo of the publishing company and the bar code. This was a tough design for me since I have not read much in printed books in years, so I had to research on what a printed story book looked like. Designing this book was quite hard for me since I did not relate to the story at all, it was the opposite of my personality. I had to make it look dark and depressing while also conveying a important part of the book in the coverage (such as the money).
My process for this book was to create something that looked modern but has an elegant classical touch; something like the hard cover books from 20th century.
GENERAL ILLUSTRATION POSTER
Here is a illustration poster I created using the M&M slogan. It goes like: "It melts in your mouth, not in your hands". There are two variations to this illustration poster. This was created in illustrator, so it would be automatically a vector image (since this was meant to printed). My process for this piece was a little complicated, since every part did not need to effect the other, so all of them were created on separate layers. First I set the background color, choosing which was best to help show off the other martial. Then tried to make my own flat ones for the background. After that I found images of m&m's to use over my flat ones, one of them I had to create myself since there wasn't any of that color. Then I separated them into two variations, one was to be used as a busy version of the clean and simple one; mainly because I needed to incorporate the slogans meaning in my poster.
TRACK
Track is a sports clothing company, which I came up with in my Design 1 class. So I could create a logo for it. Below you can see a portion of a booklet I created to show off my logo. The pages are descending in order: from the cover page to page 10. The idea here was to use a given animal and type of company (clothing, market, taxi industry, etc) by the teacher (in my case the dog and clothing company) and use it to create a logo, but the logo had to be created using perfect shapes in illustrator. My process for this project was not very long, since I already had idea in mind when I found out what animal and company I was given. So the process was simple: I sketched a drawing, scanned it in, opened it with illustrator, and used a new layer to create on my drawing. First I set up perfect shapes over my sketch. Then I used the pen tool to create paths according to the shapes.
